Court-Appointed Neutral

In litigation involving complex financial matters, courts are routinely inundated with complex expert reports along with thousands of pages of supporting documents.

The volume of data is complicated when competing expert reports offer divergent interpretations of the same financial records, requiring the court to reconcile different methodologies and often biased conclusions.

The specific task and role of a court-appointed neutral varies by jurisdiction (i.e. Rule 706 for Federal courts) and case, but the objective is always to assist the court in reaching an equitable and efficient resolution.

My experience as a court-appointed neutral includes providing court-ordered expert reports, as well as assisting the court directly as judicial accountant.

I also routinely serve as a jointly-retained expert, agreed upon by both parties to streamline litigation.

In addition to experience, I hold designations and certifications to support my credibility as an accounting expert. I hold a Master’s Degree in Accounting (MSA) from Bradley University. I am licensed as a certified public accountant (CPA) by the State of Illinois. I am accredited in business valuation (ABV) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
